If I have an accountant, do I need a bookkeeper?

It depends on the accountant you have selected.

Some accountants or accounting firms also offer bookkeeping services. However, the role and services provided by an accountant and those of a bookkeeper are different.

A bookkeeper provides on-going services that allow you to track the flow of day-to-day financial transactions. Most accountants do not provide this service but instead, specialize in the preparation and filing of taxes.

I always work closely with my clients' accountants to ensure accurate records and reporting.

Do you come to my office?

In a word - no. All services are done remotely. I utilize file-sharing programs like Google Drive and DropBox, and remote access programs like Log Me In to keep things running smoothly. One of the beautiful things about utilizing cloud-based programs is that I can work with clients all over the country. The added convenience for you is that you do not need to provide an appropriately-equipped space at your location for me to do the work.

Is it safe to use cloud-based financial software, such as Quickbooks Online?

Yes, I believe it's safe. It is certainly safer than having all of your financial records on a laptop that can be stolen from your home or office.

If you prefer to install software on a desktop computer, we will work together to enable me to access your computer remotely and schedule regular back-ups to keep your data secure and up to date.

There are also other hosting options we can explore instead.

What is your hourly rate?

I don't charge by the hour.

My fees are based on the type, amount, and frequency of service you require. I receive payment for the results and the value I provide to you, rather than the amount of time it takes for me to get the job done properly.

I believe that accuracy and efficiency are more important than speed. When your books are well-managed and maintained, there's rarely a need to rush to meet a deadline.

What services do you offer, and how much do they cost?

I offer a variety of packages to serve businesses large and small, and a range of price points for each type of service I provide.

I work with each client to create a personal money-management plan to best suit his or her individual needs. The amount you pay will be determined by the level and frequency of service you require.
